This week we have started to research the work of the sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. We have been experimenting with his ideas and techniques such as rock balancing and drawing with slate on slate. We will be using him as an inspiration to create our own unique pieces of art work.
As part of our work on The Iron Man, we walked into our classroom this week and found it in disarray! What happened? What had caused it? What were all these parts and who did they belong to? We worked in groups to ask questions and make predictions.
This term's PE is gymnastics. This week we have been learning different balances- we really had to focus and use our muscles in order to balance. We practised our stalk, arabesque, Y, side star, dish balance and shoulder stand.
Hazel and Reverend Liz came to help Y3 learn about what it means to be a Christian. Thank you for coming to visit and for our lovely new books about Christianity.
Y3 made boats which linked to science and our English topic, Mousehole cat. We had lots of fun making them and seeing if they would survive a 'storm.'
